Last year The Bama Companies, Inc. engaged one of PSGi's Performance Management Consultants for a variety of tasks associated with their "Project Universe." We are pleased they have now selected PSGi for our PRISM Customer Support services as well. Bama plans to employ PSGi deep PRISM expertise calling on PSGI when they want:
- to ensure PRISM can handle new business requirements
- guidance with PRISM modifications
- assistance with stubborn PRISM support issues.
According to Brian Davis, Bama's IS Director, "We see PSGi as an extension of our IT staff working with us as part of our company's commitment to deliver continuous improvement and build upon the quality of our products and the efficiency of our processes."
We are very pleased to welcome The Bama Companies as our newest PRISM Support customer.
Ed Sheffield, who has been with Precision Solutions Group, Inc. since the beginning in 2003, will be retiring later this month.
Ed started in the software business as an RPG programmer on an IBM System 3. He has worked primarily with manufacturing business systems within the IBM small systems divisions including System 3's, 34's, 36's, and 38's and finally the AS/400 - System i. Ed has more than 35 years of experience with these systems!
In 1991 Ed was employed by Marcam Corporation as a Senior Programmer Analyst in Product Development working on Prism 2.1. In 1996 he moved to the Customer Support Team where within a few months he became Team Leader for the Prism Manufacturing Technical Team. In 1997 Ed became Manager of Prism Technical Support responsible for the leadership and direction of all Support Programmer Analysts performing programming support for all Prism modules. He remained at Marcam until starting with PSGi in 2003.
Ed was employee number 1 at PSGi. He came on board when there were no PSGi customers yet and surely there was some doubt about how successful we would be. His belief in what we were doing then translated into great service for our customers and they in turn believed in us too. From day one, he has been a key contributor in PSGi's success. We are only a few months short of Ed being with PSGi for 10 years. Over that time he has continually displayed great concern for our customers, a terrific work ethic and outstanding dedication. He is not only our coworker but our friend and he will be missed.
We thank Ed for his dedication to the PRISM community all of these years and for his work with PSGi. We wish him the best in retirement with his wife, Claudia, children and grand children.
Tom McManus comes to Precision Solutions Group, Inc. with more than 22 years of experience working with Process Manufacturing software on a variety of platforms and technologies. Joining Marcam as a recent college graduate, he spent his first 8 years working in both the PRISM Support and Product Development departments. During that time he worked as project leader and designer for the rewrite of Transaction Entry. Tom transitioned to the Protean product for the next 8 years becoming proficient in object oriented technology and relational databases.
Tom joined GE Fanuc Automation as an Advanced Engineer working on their S-88 compliant Proficy Batch Execution product in both a development and support role. Since that position he has worked as an independent contractor working with several organizations including PSGi. One of his more unusual projects was developing an iPhone quiz game, "Think Like a Comedian" for a Boston area standup comedian.
Although Tom has been contracting for PSGi for a while now, it is with great pleasure to welcome him to our team full time. Tom brings a breadth of experience that will be invaluable to our customers. First, he knows PRISM and our team already through his years at Marcam so he will be able to jump right in the moment he starts. He also understands a number of programming languages that he can employ to help us with any issues within PRISM and help us integrate new technologies to our solutions. His well-rounded skill set will also allow him to work on our IBM i Managed Services endeavors.
PSGi is successful primarily because of the people on our team and Tom only adds more strength to that team. Welcome Tom, we look forward to many years working together.
