IBM Sys Mag Nov 2012 resized 600The November, 2012 IBM Systems Magazine features an article "A Special Relationship -- Golden State Foods finds a partner to help support an aging ERP system."  CIO Rhonda Sias describes how PSGi customer support and professional services "enables our internal staff to stay focused on the strategic goals of our company."  According to Business Services Manager Bill Runyan, the Relationship began when  "We started hiring PSGi consultants for smaller projects because of their [PRISM and One World] expertise."  But that relationship grew substantially larger when they contracted for PSGi "to take all of our support calls and deal with the package as a whole."  Dealing with the package as a whole also means incorporating the Flex Consulting Days PSGi delivers with its standard support offering.  "We have so many projects every year involved in manufacturing that we feel we can use those flex hours against them ... but were stretched so thin, we decided to take advantage of those extra hours ... [for] something that was well beyond simple help-desk support."

PSGi has assisted this manufacturer and distributor of fast food products implementing best practices and going live with previously unused modules of PRISM "such as Quick Scheduler  which has dramatically improved how Golden State Foods deals with manufacturing schedules ... Now we can quickly understand the materials we have on hand and could be making instead of having staff standing around waiting for a machine to be fixed." PSGi continues to provide business process optimization services at the Conyers, GA and City of Industry, CA facilities ensuring they get the most functionality out of PRISM and JDE World achieving the highest return on their continuing investment in their systems.

Golden State Foods also credits PSGi with enabling them to avoid costly replacing of their older yet functionally rich systems and "to continue to use the solution [PRISM and JDE World] as a vital part of its back-office processing."  Larry Dube, PSGi's President, describes these legacy IBM i-based systems as functionally equivalent to contemporary solutions in core ERP processing.  "Companies continue to use these systems because they simply work, meet the company's and industry's needs, and have a significantly lower total cost of ownership.  Why spend tens or hundreds of millions of dollars to replace a working solution?"

PSGi delivers customer support and professional services for all IBM i-based enterprise business software for the manufacturing and distribution companies around the globe.
