The Problem: Awrey Bakeries asked PSGi to optimize their planning and scheduling software to improve production floor efficiencies. We discovered that the company had been using theoretical production and consumption because they found that standard transaction entry screens were too complex and unwieldy. Additionally, variances were not being posted to the general ledger accounts for accurate analysis.
PSGi’s Response: PSGi designed data entry screens to simplify actual production and consumption entries. Then we developed a program to calculate variances, process the appropriate transactions, and send the variances to the general ledger.
The Result: Awrey could now see the efficiency information they needed to take corrective action. The result was significantly improved production floor efficiencies, which saved the company thousands of dollars.
